Whole Food Nutrition Education
Information about program

This educational and personalised program is designed to give you smart, common sense and discerning education in nutrition, eating habits and lifestyle choices. Each week you will have homework which will personalise your education and understanding and help you integrate the information into your everyday lifestyle.

This is a 7 week program.

Your Home play :
Apart from you questionnaire, keep a food and fluid diary, record time eaten, how you feel before and after meal and whether you are eating on the run or in a relaxed state. Do this for 1 week prior to meeting with me (include weekend eating).

Week 1 Meeting (1 hour)
What I will teach you: Food Fundamentals: What are carbohydrate, fats and proteins? What do they do for your mind and body? What are the not so good and good types?

Your Home play:
To write up the ingredients of 10 different food or fluids product found in your pantry or fridge (not the nutritional panel).

Week 2 Meeting (1 hour)
Source of foods and fluids: Soil, farming/gardening, animal husbandry, additives, shopping list of best sourced foods and fluids. How to read ingredients on a product.

Your Home play:
To find out the source of 3 different food/ or fluid products. To write out the nutritional panel from 2 packets of foods or fluids.

Week 3 Meeting (1hour)
Processing of foods and fluids: External processing methods eg factory and home cooking and Internal processing methods: how your digestive system processes foods? Health symptoms associated with poor processing methods. Convenience vs. creating time to source, prepare and eat a meal.

Your Home play:
Define what the following words (just write a few) mean for you and what images or thoughts they conjure up. Diet, Supplement, Fat, Animal Meat, Soy, Cholesterol, Vegetarianism, Milk, Cereal and Carbohydrates. Clean up your pantry and fridge. Discard all processed foods and fluids.

Week 4 Meeting (1 hour)
Debunk common food myths and diets. Overcome the confusion and overwhelmed feeling as to what we are meant to eat and drink.

Your Home play:
What did you eat when you were growing up (include breast fed or not)? What did your parents eat growing up?

Week 5 Meeting (1 hour)
Ancestoral eating: What did we eat before industrialisation or processing of our foods and fluids?

Week 6 Meeting (2 hours)
Let’s go shopping! I will take you to my local whole food stores or markets in order to show you the best of the best live!! We will then go to my favourite lunch place which offers organic whole food meals!

Your Home play:
Bring along any questions that you feel we have not covered in relation to food and nutrition.

Week 7 Meeting (1 hour)
Putting it all together:
What are we meant to eat and drink every day? The art of eating well. Review shopping list.

Summary:
How to keep healthy, well and happy and prevent illness. Update your knowledge. Fundamentals explained and myths debunked. Source and processing of foods and fluids. From soil to plate. Where to shop and how to cook. Learn how to discern between the huge amount of health & lifestyle information we are faced with everyday in the media, food, health and drug industries and general whispers from here, there and everywhere.

Groups of 2, couples or families are also encouraged to do this at the same time as it will be easier to apply and you can split the costs and save money.

How will I further be supporting you?
I have naturopathic trained assistants to support your needs in between consults or to answer simple questions. Please limit email questions to 2 per week unless I have asked you otherwise and if urgent ask my assistants. Alternatively you can always call me for a 15 minute phone consult or book in person ($40.00)
