Sunburn…
As most of you know I have been working quiet a lot with the transition of stores & expansion of OVViO & I haven’t seen much sun. First day at the beach, 2 days ago resulted in some sunburn & sun stroke. My poor Mediterranean skin has been neglected. It desperately needs some Vitamin D & a tan. I have been lathering up with my fav after sun lotion to soothe the sting. I exposed my white skin too much at one time though it could have been a lot worse. I thank my healthy diet for protecting my skin from too much sun damage & ageing. After all I am 40. So the key folks is this. Sunlight good, sunburn not, healthy antioxidants very good!! This is what protects my skin so I can reap the rewards of our beautiful sun with out the damage & by damage I mean ageing which becomes important at my age. Antioxidants (mop up free radical damage which causes rapid ageing) are found in many foods we eat: grass fed animal fats, organic blue/red/purple fruit & vegetables, turmeric & tomatoes just to name some.
A good book to read this Summer on the “Healing Sun” is http://www.thehealingsun.org/
So in the meantime for me..moderate exposure of glorious sun & take a day or 2 off each week to rest & enjoy these beautiful Summer days….
